I grew up in Cheyenne but have travelled around the country and the world on various projects. I have only been involved on a grassroots level recently, and I started by organizing fundraisers to support the Water Protectors at Standing Rock last October. From there I got to meet some of the awesome people who have been working hard at making Wyoming a more accepting and equal place to live. I was accepted into the Forward WY Grassroots Institute, and honed in some of my organizing skills. I met the wonderful people at Wyoming Equality and Juntos through networking. Currently, most of my organizing efforts are with Juntos, an immigrant advocacy group in Cheyenne taking on the many challenges of justice work in this area. When I was asked to help organize the ActLocal leadership event for WY, I knew that groups like Juntos and Wyoming Equality could benefit from the boundless opportunities an event like this can present. Thank you for the opportunity to help make WY a more equal and passionate place to live.
