Protecting everyone's right to breathe clean air! www.CleanAir.org Clean Air Council was founded in 1967 by a group of forward-looking policy makers, physicians, businesses, and community leaders from Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware who recognized that air pollution was a threat to health that demanded a region-wide solution. The Bylaws, written in 1967, still guide the work of the Council, namely, “to inform and educate the public concerning the health, economic, and aesthetic effects of air pollution and the technological and legal tools available for its control.” Headquartered in Philadelphia, the Council has expanded its work to address other environmental issues affecting the region including: global climate change, sustainable energy, neighborhood toxics, indoor air pollution, children’s environmental health, waste reduction, and sustainable transportation.
