We are ordinary, concerned, residents of Upper Darby and neighboring communities, from a cross-section of political and non-political backgrounds. We have been provoked into action by the outrageous, manipulative, and abusive words and actions of a president and administration cynically oblivious to the common good and colluding with authoritarian oligarchs and plutocrats everywhere. In fact it could be called a “war against people” that intends to cut everything that involving people's health and welfare and instead buy guns and build walls. In response to President Trump’s pandering to fears and anxieties in these times of change, we have taken time, money, and energy from our own jobs, families, congregations, and neighborhoods to call our elected representatives in Washington to account. We take action to staunch a daily tide of cruel and foolish actions and decisions that prey on the disadvantaged and less powerful, and that threaten the future of our democracy, our nation, our children – indeed, our planet.
