As the political leader of the pro-choice movement in Maryland, we work to develop and sustain a constituency that works to guarantee every woman the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive choices. NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland is a 501(c)(4) and a sister organization to NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland Fund, a 501(c)(3). NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland is the Maryland affiliate of NARAL Pro-Choice America. NPCM was established in 1981 to develop and sustain a constituency that uses the political process to guarantee every woman the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive options, including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children and choosing legal abortion. NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland Fund was founded in 1997 in order to support and protect, as a fundamental freedom, a woman’s right to make reproductive choices. This mission is accomplished through support of education, training programs, and public policy initiatives. What does NARAL stand for? In 2003, NARAL Pro-Choice America became the legal name of the organization formerly known as the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League. NARAL is no longer an acronym for the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League. This page is for supporters of NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland and NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland Fund. We love interacting with supporters of our organization and of our mission, and are interested in engaging in an open and respectful discussion.
