NOW chapters focus on six priority issues including reproductive rights, ending sex discrimination/constitutional equality, promoting diversity and ending racism, economic justice, stopping violence against women, and lesbian rights including marriage equality. Our chapter welcomes new members to help fight for women's rights on the local and national level. Nashville NOW is the Nashville, Tennessee chapter of the National Organization for Women, a multi-issue progressive organization working for equality. How Does Nashville NOW Take Action? -Educating the public and media about the status of and threats to women's rights -Organizing rallies, protests, demonstrations and marches of all sizes -Protesting businesses that mistreat women and people of color -Lobbying for and writing laws that promote full equality for women -Supporting and electing feminist candidates at all levels of government -Working in coalition with progressive allies NOW's Top Six Priority Issues are: *Advancing Reproductive Freedom *Promoting Diversity & Ending Racism *Stopping Violence Against Women *Winning Lesbian Rights *Achieving Constitutional Equality *Ensuring Economic Justice
