We are group of people who attended the March in DC and want to make sure we keep momentum and our voices are heard. We will be meeting twice a month to take action and learn. All are welcome here! If you would like to join us for our events look us up on Facebook RiseUp Indy RiseUp Indy Who are we? We are some of the Indianapolis women who attended the Women’s March in Washington D.C. While in the company of the masses of women, men and children with whom we rallied and marched, we were invited, encouraged and inspired to continue this important work at home and we've invited you to join us. We have created this group and we are committed to work in support of social justice and equality for all. By creating awareness, enhancing our knowledge about legislative issues and processes we intend to become more engaged and active advocates. The Women’s March mission states in part, “We call on all defenders of human rights to join us. This march is the first step towards unifying our communities, grounded in new relationships, to create change from the grassroots level up. We will not rest until women have parity and equity at all levels of leadership in society. We work peacefully while recognizing there is no true peace without justice and equity for all.” Beginning in February 2017 we will be meeting on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of every month.. and we will be making a difference with one discussion, one postcard, one phone call, one presentation, one step at a time... together!
